 MCCANN, A.J.—Graveside services are scheduled for 11:00 A.M., Saturday, December 23, 2006 at South Park Cemetery for A.J. McCann, age 73, of Roswell, who passed away December 20, 2006 at Eastern New Mexico Medical Center. Ernest Sampson will officiate.
  A.J. was born March 12, 1933 in Commerce, Texas, to Roy and Eva McCann, they both preceded him in death as well as a daughter, Leona Kay McCann, a brother, Billy F. McCann, and three infant sisters.
  A.J. was married to Geraline “Gerry” Lindley in Roswell on November 1, 1957. She survives him at the family home.
  A.J. is survived by his two daughters: Clarisa Opheim and her husband Art of Roswell, Laura McCann of Roswell; one grandson: Joshua Opheim; one brother: Cecil McCann and his special companion Dorothy Johnson of Pastura, New Mexico; two sisters: Mable Clifton of Sulphur Springs, TX, Kate Brown and her husband Bill of Roswell; Brother-in-laws: Myron Lindley and his wife Annette of Lynn AL, Rahland Lindley and his wife Sarah of Saltillo, MS, Joe Lindley and his wife Betty of Haleyville, AL, Lee Lindley and his wife Sam of Brookwood, AL; sister-in-law: Letretha Sampson and her husband Dave of Racine, MO, and numerous nieces and nephews.
  A.J. loved to fish and hunt. He drove a truck for Hale Trucking for 20 years. A.J. was employed with McKay Oil for the past 18 years. A.J. loved to decorate his house for the holidays, especially Christmas and Halloween, and drinking coffee with the guys at Prices. He would plant any flower seed he could get his hands on.
  Honorary Pallbearers will be: All of his friends.
