Gary Richard McGuyer, 72, of Cooper passed away Saturday, Dec. 6, 2008, in Paris.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 8, in Delta Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Johnny Witherspoon officiating. Burial followed in Oaklawn Cemetery in Cooper under the direction of Delta Funeral Home.
He was born May 23, 1936, in Cooper, the son of Eutah Terrell and Mary Ella Cavanaugh McGuyer. He was a retired truck driver, and a veteran of the United States Army. He was a lifelong resident of Cooper.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Buchanan McGuyer, on Oct. 14, 2008, and his parents.
He is survived by a daughter, Becky Boles of Cooper; two brothers, J.O. McGuyer and Charles McGuyer, both of Cooper; two sisters, Nell Payne of Saltillo and Dolores Osborn of New Braunsfels and three grandchildren, Kristen Boles and Brandon McClanahan. (The Paris News)
