Born in Texarkana, a son of Robert Matthew & Cora Pearl Cummings Hood, he married Elsie L. Kindle Dec. 31, 1937, in Paris. He was retired from the Paris Fire Department after serving for 37 years. He was a member of the Breakfast Optimist International, the Woodman of the World & the Immanuel Baptist Church. He served in the Navy during World War II. Surviving are his wife; a son, Robert H. Hood of Paris; 2 grandchildren, Latisha Renee Hood & Robert Thomas Hood, both of Paris; 3 nieces & 3 nephews.'
