  Howard Leon Kirkpatrick 74, of Paris Texas, peacefully sailed his ship to the promise land surrounded by all his children on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at 12:39 AM at his home. Funeral services are set for 2:00 PM Friday, January 27, 2017 in the chapel of Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home with Dr. Mike Gentry officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until service time prior to the service on Friday. Fry & Gibbs funeral home will be making the arrangements.
  Howard was born April 8, 1942 in Red River County, Texas to Paul Leon and Clara Mae Hill Kirkpatrick. He graduated high school and married his high school sweetheart, Shirley Sue Easley on August 4, 1962 in New Boston, Texas. She joined the lord September 17, 2009. He was a dedicated member of the First Church of the Nazarene.
  Survivors include his three children, Vicki Skaggs of Paris, Amy and husband Charles Branum of Powderly, Philip and wife Kristi Kirkpatrick of Paris; Seven grandchildren, Paul Kirkpatrick and wife, Dani. Brittany Kirkpatrick and significant other Josh Pate, Dakota Easton, Andrew, Lucas, Matthew, and Audrey Kirkpatrick; three great-grandchildren Kole, Ryder and Rylee Pate. As well as his brother Wendell Kirkpatrick. He was preceded in death and welcomed in the gates by his wife and his parents, as well as son-in-law Charles Skaggs.
  He worked for Campbell Soup many years and was a dedicated father and grandfather, he liked music and classic cars. He liked to watch the sunset each morning.
  He was a gift to the earth and a hero.
