The driver of a Chevy Geo lost control hitting an 18-wheeler Sunday afternoon. Department of Public Safet y officials say the driver of the Geo, 43-year old Darlene Perry of Shreveport, died at the s cene. The driver of the 18-wheeler, John William Dixon of Bossier City, Louisiana, is in stable condition at a local hospital. She was born Nov. 15, 1963, in Prescott. She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Alfred Hickey; and her mother, Bobbie Jean Wicker Butcher. She is survived by her two sons, Christopher and Alex Perry of Shreveport, La.; a sister, Victoria Bartel and husband James of Old Hickory, Tenn.; two brothers, Bobby Hickey of Emmet and Jamie Butcher of Shreveport, La.; her stepfather, Jim Butcher of Shreveport, La.; her siste r-in-law, Brenda Hickey of Emmet; three nieces, Alissa Hickey, Cheyenne Butcher, and Tabith a Marion; six nephews, Joseph, Justin, Nicholas and Tanner Hickey, and Ashton and Damien Bart el; and many more friends and family. Darlene’s boys were her life. She was very active in support groups for Downs Dyndrome. She was a computer graphic designer. There will be a memorial service Friday, Sept. 14, at 2 p.m. at the Laneburg United Pentecostal Church.
