Ethyl was Born blind and died in a house fire in her early 20's. per letter from Edna E. Leamons Rowley.
Also, mute. Got up one cold morning. Someone lit the fire and went back to bed. Ethel got up and was warming herself and her nightgown caught on fire. She didn't know what to do and went back to and covered up and burned up without anyone knowing. per Barbara Van Wert.
I have some corrections to make about Ethel who didn't actually burn to death. I believe she asphyxiated when she got into her bed and pulled the cover up over her head. Nothing else caught on fire, so I believe the blanket smothered the fire while she breathed in--inhaled--the smoke. quote from Barbara Van Wert email dated 6-18-13
