Note: Livingston David Gaines April 24, 1928 - October 26, 2019
Mr. Livingston D. Gaines, age 91 of Quitman, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family Saturday, October 26, 2019. Mr. Gaines was an avid fisherman and fly fisherman. He was called the "piano man". He could play anything he heard and learned to play by ear. He enjoyed singing in the church choir. Mr Gaines was a faithful and devoted husband to his wife of 62 years, Avis Gaines. He loved his sons and grandchildren and enjoyed the time that he spent with them.
Those left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Avis Gaines; 2 sons, David D. Gaines (Anne), Mark L. Gaines (Pam); grandchildren, Duncan Armentor, Andrew Livingston Gaines, Anthony Norman Gaines; great grandchildren, Duncan Jr., Chloe, Brighid, Haven, Alyvia, Sawyer, Sadie; sisters, Jane Elizabeth Stroud, Precilla Anne Doughty, Linda Sue Poss; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Livingston Davis and Jane Elizabeth (Munson) Gaines; brother, Brent Gaines; nephews, Jonathan Poss, Daniel Doughty.
A graveside service will be held Monday, October 28, 2019 in Garden of Memories Cemetery at 10:00AM with Reverend Bobby White officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Southern-Edmonds Funeral Home.
Serving the family as pallbearers will be Butch Springfield, Andy Gaines, Tony Gaines, Bruce Alexander, Scott Alexander, Paul Jones. Pete Gunn will serve as honorary pallbearer.
