She was born March 14, 1924, in Bonham in Fannin County, daughter of Calvin and Mary Elizabeth Province. She had previously lived in Hillsboro for a number of years. She was a member of First United Pentecostal Church of Hillsboro. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Mary Strawn and Ruby Ann Strawn; two grandsons, Baby Cornwell and Shane Strawn; one son-in-law, Richard Gurganus; and three brothers, Jesse Goodman, Earl Goodman and Irvin Goodman. Survivors include: four daughters, Lois Averitt and husband, James, Cherry Martin and husband, Willie, Wanda Kyle and husband, Neil and Julie Gurganus, all of Fort Worth; two sons, Loyd Richard Strawn and wife, Elizabeth of Hillsboro and Rickey Lee Strawn and wife, Cindi, of Fort Worth; 12 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, February 18, 2004, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Hillsboro with Rev. Clay Strawn and Rev. W. L. Williams officiating.
