I was told my whole life how lucky I was to have a man like him as my father. Of coure I knew this all along. My Dad always made time for me. I was his fishing buddy because I could be quite and still while fishing . I have such fond memories of fishing with my dad. eating BBQ viennies with saltines and a soda. I wold set for hours in my Dad's lap when I was little and comb the hair on his chest. To this day I still love a man with a hairy chest. My Dad never complained even when I would put rubber bands in the hair. We would take naps together on the couch. Once my Gannie wanted me to get up and let my Dad rest alone. But Daddy just set up and would rest til I laid back down on the couch with him. My Mom told her to leave me alone because that was the only way he would rest. My Dad had us kids a little late in life. He was almost 42 when my brother was born. Almost 46 when I was born. Sometimes people would ask me about my Grandpa and the look on there face when I told them he was my father was to die for. But they may have taught he was my Grand pa because my mother would call him Daddy. You just have to wander what went threw their minds after I told them he was my Dad. Summer time holds lots of memories for me and my family too. We always went camping every summer. Look out for Daddy because he just might pour ice cold water down your back when you lest expected it. Then it would be on with everyone throwing water. He really like to get us girls. My Dad favored the girls but loved us all. With my Dad having us late in life all my couson's where quit a bit older then me so they have stories to tell I didn't know about. My favorite was the one my cus told at his funeral. My Dad was the 1st in the family to get a TV. He invited his family over to watch on night. They where all setting around waiting to get there 1 look at TV. When my Dad turned it on they said it was the prettiest sown they ever did see. My dad was a little upset and wnet about trying to tune is a channel. He did finely get one but it was still pretty snowy. He also got the 1st color TV in the family but didn't invite everyone over to watch it. I feel blessed to have had him for my father and to get to have him in my life for as long as I did. My father lost 2 children in his life time. My sister Tammy when she was just 4 and my brother Larry when he as 49. My Dad took the lost of my brother very hard and all tho he died from drowing on his feeding tube. He really died from depression. When my brother Died he was kick form his home my my sister-in-law and put in a nursing home. He wouldn't come live with me. He wanted to go home. And she didn't want to take care of him. Dad was 90 and came down with dimencha do to the lake of vitamins in his diet. He was misdianosed with dymincha and treated for that which caused him to see things that where not there. When his Doctor got back in to town he took him off those meds and that helped but the damage was done. My Dad stilled drove up to that point. He was put in the nursing home for rehab and got out just after my Brother died just to be put back in a few weeks later. He lived aobut 3 months after that. I can't begin to tell you how much I miss my Dad. we were very close. I just glad he was not alive to see his youngest Granddaughter Tammy it would have broken his heart. He died just a month and 1/2 from seeing his 1st greatgrand daughter, Alissa Grace Sanders. But we believe his has visited her and that she sees him. He is one of her graudian angels. My dad left behind His Grandchildren: Larry Joe Naron Tia Nicole Smith (Matt) Son's Cody Peterson and Collin Smith Joshua Aaron Peterson (Arbia) Justin Wade Peterson (Tiffany) Son's Kyler Murray and Kolten Peterson Bridget Peterson Daughter's Alissa Grace Sanders and due in March 11" Ave Michell Peterson Step grandchildren Robert w. Smith (Jezzka) Son Landon Reed Smith Kathern A. Bauldre (Thomas) Michael W. Smith And a whole lot of family and friends who adored and respected him.
