The following transcription of a WWI Draft Card from Nevada County, Arkansas (where his wife Audie's family was from and where Andrew and Audie lived in 1930) lists a birthdate of Oct 18, 1893. A Social Security death record for Jack Smith of Kern County indicates a birthdate of November 18, 1892. All the records share a common March, 1974 death date. Usually, the date on a WWI Draft Card is more accurate as it was supplied by the individual themselves, while the dates on death certificates and gravestones are supplied by others. Andrew's age of 37 on the 1930 census and 46 on the 1940 census supports an 1893 birthdate.
