SAWYER -- Mary Viola Freyer, 75, of Sawyer, died June 4, 2004, at her residence.
There will be no public service per Mrs. Freyer wishes with cremation taking place. Memorials may be made to Hospice at Home, Buchanan.
Mrs. Freyer was born Nov. 13, 1928, in Prescott, Ark. to Jack and Audie (Hickey) Smith. On Feb. 7, 1947, she married Raymond Freyer. She was a homemaker, taking care of and raising her family.
She is survived by her husband, Raymond of Sawyer; son, Raymond Freyer Jr. of New Troy, Mich.; daughters -- Mary Ann (David) Mensinger of Three Oaks, Betty (Dave) Tilly of Berrien Springs, and Frances Arlene (Randy Sr.) Kirby of Hartford; sisters -- Velma Green of LaPorte, Ind., Hazel Winnie of Florida, and Martha Smith of Hot Springs, Ark.; seven grandchildren -- Melanie Mensinger of Three Oaks, Mike Mensinger of Bridgman, Randy (Tracy) Kirby Jr. of Watervliet, Jeremy Tilly, and Timothy Tilly both of Berrien Springs, Rebecca Freyer of Benton Harbor, and Renee Freyer of New Troy; and four great-grandchildren -- Justin Mensinger of Naperville, Ill., Eden Mensinger of Three Oaks, Darcy Kirby, and Harley Kirby both of Watervliet.
Preceding her in death are her parents; brothers -- Willie Smith, James Smith, and Bruce Smith; a sister, Lucille Payne; and a grandson, David Mensinger
