Note: v 10, 1883 is given on his death certificate. His tombstone is inscribed with 1868. According to the 1880 and 1900 censuses when he was in his parent's home, his birth date would have been 1874 to 1875. His parents were married in January, 1874. In later census records his age would indicate an 1870, or an 1877, year of birth. He didn't marry until 1902. I'm going to reject the 1868 date on his tombstone as too early and will settle for a Nov. 10, 1874, being the earliest date that would agree with his parents date of marriage and would also be in close agreement with the ages reported by his parents in the census records.
