Note: m. Friday, January 8, 2016, at the First Baptist Church of Elgin with Pastor Billie Harmon and Lois Snodgrass, officiating. Burial will follow at the Elgin Memorial Cemetery under the direction of the Elgin Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Thursday from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with the family greeting friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Burkham passed away on Tuesday, January 5, 2016, in Lawton, Oklahoma at the age of 63. Janell E. (Stallings) Burkham was born March 10, 1952 to L.J. and Mary Nell (Glover) Stallings. She attended Elgin Schools and then later Lawton High School. After high school, Janell moved out of state and began travelling. She moved back to Lawton and married Arnold Burkham in September 1984. The two were married for 21 years when he passed away in 2005. Arnold and Janell took over his family’s plumbing company where she worked as a secretary until they both retired in 2003. She was a member of the Living Faith Christian Center in Apache since October 2013. Janell enjoyed crocheting, visiting with her aunts, and being with her dog Arnell. She is survived by her brother, Joey Stallings and his wife Noela of Lawton; her nephew, Jake Stallings and his wife Megan of Lawton; and numerous cousins, aunts, and uncles. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Burkham and her parents: L.J. and Nell Stallings. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Fletcher Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 448 Fletcher, OK 73541.
