Note: SA Dr. Emmett Clyde Meyers, Jr., age 75, of Winnfield, La., passed away Sunday, November 19, 2006, at the Willis Knighton Medical Center in Shreveport, La. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Winnfield. Dr. Meyers was also a member of Eastern Star Lodge #151 F & AM, and a 32nd Degree Mason in the Monroe Scottish Rite Bodies. Dr. Meyers was a graduate of LSU Medical School and practiced medicine in Winnfield since 1963. He was the son of the late Emmett Clyde Meyers, Sr. and the late Dixie (Davis) Meyers. Dr. Meyers was also preceded in death by his daughter, Lisa Stevenson; and son, Mark Meyers. He is survived by his wife Betty (Rice) Meyers of Winnfield; Three Daughters, Dixie Meyers of Winnfield, La. Anita Dranguet and husband Buzz of Natchitoches, La. Theresa Mares of Winnfield, La. One Son, Todd Mares and wife Debbie of Brandon, Miss. Nine grandchildren. Chris Stevenson, Andy Stevenson, Brett Mares, Matthew Dranguet, Jonathan Dranguet, Ashley Mares, Austin Mares, Jackson Meyers, and Hunter Tucker. Five great-grandchildren Memorial services will be held at Southern Funeral Home in Winnfield, La. on Tuesday, November 21, 2006 at 2:00 PM.
