Vester Lavan Neal, born on November 8, 1929, passed away on Thursday, February 22, 2018, at the age of 88.
He was a proud Past Master for the Masonic Lodge of Atascosa Lodge #379 AF&AM, and a proud member of Eastern Star within the Lytle Chapter #335, OES. Vester was also a proud member of the Alzafar Shrine Center.
He was happily married to Helen Neal for over 54 years.
Vester is preceded in death by his wife, Helen; son, Butch Smart; and son-in-law, George Pipes. He is survived by his daughter, Jane Pipes of Ruston, LA; son, Russell Neal of Houston, TX; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and daughter-in-law, Judy Smart of Highland, NC.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 15, 2018 from 10:00am-12:00pm with the funeral service to begin at 12:00pm at Castle Ridge Mortuary, 8008 West Military Drive, 78227.
Interment to follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at 2:00pm.
