Oscar Ernest Brown
NEDERLAND - Oscar Ernest Brown, 95, of Nederland, Texas died Thursday, December 14, 2006 at his residence.
Oscar was born on September 26, 1911 in Leesville, Louisiana to John Henry Brown and Sarah Elizabeth McFarland Brown. He was a resident of Port Arthur for 64 years before moving to Nederland 5 years ago. He retired from Texaco after 35 years of service as a head operator and was a member of First Baptist Church of Nederland. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 19, 2006 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves with Dr. David Higgs and Reverend James Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Monday, December 18, 2006 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Oscar was preceded in death by his wife, Bertha Mae Brown; parents, John and Sarah Brown; brothers, Gordon Raymond Brown, John Henry Brown, Jr. and Jean Delbert Brown; sister, Lois Brown Galloway.
Survivors include his daughter, Falva Davis of Vidor, Texas; son, Paul Brown and wife, Jeannine of Nederland, Texas; grandchildren, Judy Cluelow and husband, Mark of Port Neches, Texas, Bob Miller and wife, Laura of Groves, Texas, Karon Frazer and husband, Jamie of Graham, Washington, Sharon Alsobrook and her husband, Jason of Puyallop, Washington, Laura Beth Brown of Rutherford, New Jersey; great-grandchildren, Chrissi Cluelow, Cori Cluelow, Ryan Miller, Justin Frazer, Bethany Frazer and Christopher Urbina.
