David Roger Galloway, age 57, died June 25, 2014, following an extended illness. He grew up and graduated from school in Groves, Texas, and graduated from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas. His career included work with various Texas newspapers including the Port Arthur News, the Beaumont Enterprise and the Houston Chronicle where he was a content editor, and moved up to supervisor and managing editor. Later he worked at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center as associate scientific editor and more recently as senior scientific editor for St. Jude Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. David was preceded in death by his parents Fern and Lois (Brown) Galloway, by a brother Fern A. Galloway, by step-daughter, Nikki, and by his three-legged dog, Elvis. He was survived by a sister Elaine, by sister-in-law Janie, nieces Lisa and Michelle and by cousins, family and friends who loved and will miss him dearly.
