Note: s for Chloteal Norrid Murphy, 98, will be held at 2 P.M. Sunday, November 13, 2011 at Rockett-Nettles Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Olan McLaren officiating. Burial will follow in Holley Springs Cemetery at Martin, LA. Visitation will be held from 12 P.M. until 2 P.M. on Sunday. Mrs. Murphy was a member of Fairview Baptist Church but for the last few years she has enjoyed services at Green Meadow Haven conducted by Bro. McLaren and members of Davis Springs Southern Methodist Church. Mrs. Murphy passed away November 11, 2011. Mrs. Murphy was born on July 28, 1913 in Red River Parish to the late John W. and Nancy Huckabay Norrid. She was preceded in death by her husband, W. Andrew Murphy; brothers, William and Wiley Norrid; sisters, Marie N. McGee, Delia N. Kennington, and Iola N. Henderson. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Donald and Elaine M. Brown of Coushatta; two grandchildren, Bobby Don Brown and his wife, Andrea W. Brown of Bossier City and Delaine Brown Mitchell and her husband, Rev. James Mitchell of Mandeville; three great-grandchildren, Eric and Rachel Brown and Patrick Mitchell; two sisters, Onetha N. Jones of Shreveport and Adele N. McMichael of Coushatta. Pallbearers will be Bobby Don Brown, Eric Brown, Tony Murphy, Troy Murray, Freddie Bolyer, and Robert Murphy. The family would like to express their appreciation to Dr. Gavin Chico, the staff of Green Meadow Haven and the staff of Cornerstone Hospital. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Davis Springs Southern Methodist Church, 203 Davis Springs Rd., Campti, LA 71411.
