Note: h her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Tuesday, July 22, 2003. Perline was a devout Christian, a loving mother and a loyal wife. Her life spanned a time of great change in the world including world wars and industrial changes. Throughout these changes, she always maintained the same values. Perline authored two books which chronicled life in Louisiana as lived by her grandmother and her mother. Another book told of family stories. Perline loved quilting, crochet and flower gardening. She made many wonderful gifts for family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 25, 2003 at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel. Officiating will be Pastor Kendall Holley of Broadacres Baptist Church assisted by, Pastor Don Fletcher. Interment will follow in Forest Park Cemetery, St. Vincent Avenue. The family will receive freinds from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, July 24, 2003 at the funeral home. Perline was preceded in death by her parents, Wick and Eula Colvin; daughter, Mary Bowlin; grandsons, Jimmy Haynes, Jr., and Scott Bowlin; sister, Bessie and three brothers, Judson, Johnny and Huey. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Wilson Bristow; son Fred Bowlin and wife Billie, son Bill Bowlin and wife Arden, and daughter Chariine Haynes and her husband Jim. Her grandchildren are Jana Pruitt, Charta Snelling, Rocky Bowlin, Doug Bowlin, Jon Bowlin, Kellie Graff, Courtney Graff, Jeff Haynes and Ten Reynolds. Her surviving siblings are sisters, Elaine Boyd and Patsy Laurence and brothers Max Colvin and Hays Colvin. Pallbearers will be Jeff Haynes, Greg Snelling, Paul Pruitt, Jon Bowlin, Rocky Bowlin and Brandon Bowlin. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Mark Allen Brown, Donna Brown, the staff at The Terrace, Freda Sims and the staff of LifePath Hospice.
