Note: rt, LA. Services will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday, October 11, 2008 at Rose-Neath's Bossier Chapel with Rev. Billy Pierce officiating, assisted Rev. Tommy Patton. Interment will be at 3 p.m. at Holly Springs Cemetery in Martin, LA. Visitation will be Friday, October 10, 2008 from 5-8 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Bossier City, LA.
Mr. Madden was born July 10, 1930 in Harmon, LA to Leonard "Scrap" Madden and Frances "Pluma" Harper Madden. He was a member of Cypress Baptist Church. Don retired from SWEPCO as a Marketing Engineer.
His parents; brother, Rupert Madden and daughter-in-law, Janet Madden preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Jo Madden of Benton; son, Joe Don Madden of Bossier City; grandchildren, Joshua Loren Madden and Jennifer Lee Madden; sisters, Opal Gaspard of Bossier City, Nelda Emmons and husband, Johnnie, Jr. of Natchitoches, JoAnne Gay of Nederland, TX, Frances Ber and husband Warren C. and numerous nieces and nephews.
Honoring Don as pallbearers will be his nephews, Gary Madden, Gregory Madden, Stephen Gaspard, Kim Gaspard, Johnnie Emmons, III, Jeffrey Wayne Gay and Warren C. Ber.
Honorary pallbearers will be Floyd Lindsey and A.D. Basham.
Memorials may be made to Cypress Baptist Church, P. O. Box 340, Benton, LA 71006 or to the donor's choice.
Mr. Madden had the gift of 15 years of extended time with his family due to a heart and kidney transplant. The family would like to thank Dr. Robert McMillan, Dr. Mary Mancini and all the other doctors for all of their love and care of our loved one over the years. Rose-Neath Funeral Home
