Note: Spurlock, Fred O. Died Monday, March 29, at 9:55 p.m. in Lane Memorial Hospital, Zachary. He was a resident of Epperson Street in Baker, age 45, an employee of Ethyl Corp. A native of Jonesboro, he served with the Seabees in World War II. Body at Welsh parlor with visitation 1 to 10 p.m. Wednesday and after 8 a.m. Thursday. Religious services from Welsh parlor at 10 a.m. Thursday, conducted by the Rev. Allen C. Johnson, with burial in Greenoaks Memorial Park. Active pallbearers are J. Fred Hamilton, Charles M. Harrison, Frank B. Harrison, Percy E. Thomas, Walter J. Janczys, and Willie Badeaux. Survived by his widow, Mrs. Johnnie Black Spurlock, Baker; his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. H. R. Spurlock, Jonesboro, four sons, Fred Wayne, Jonesboro, Charles David, with the U. S. Army in Germany, John Timothy and Edward Paul, both of Baker; one brother, Harold R. , Palmdale, Calif.; and four grandchildren. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Jonesboro, the Ethyl Management Club, and the Refrigeration & Service Engineers.
