From an unnamed and undated article located in the Lamar County Genealogical Society Library, in the Taylor Collection, Box M. 'William W. (Bill) Medsker, Rt. 2, Deport, died Thursday, May 12, at Cherry Street Annex. Services were scheduled Friday, May 13, at 3 p.m. at Gene Roden's Sons Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Rockyford [sic] Cemetery. Mr. Medsker was born Feb. 6, 1897, in Biardstown, a son of Peter S. Medsker and Eliza Ann Richardson Medsker. Surviving are two daughters, Lois Everett Medsker King of Paris and Sarah Elizabeth Medsker Morris of Lawton, OK; and eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three sisters and four brothers and two grandchildren. Pallbearers were Dalton Gibson, Morris Pointer, Charles Barnes, James B. Grant, J.J. Barham and Don Stuck.'
