He was born on February 1, 1938, in Baltimore, Maryland. He is predeceased by his father William Marvin Cocke, Sr. , mother Clara Bosley Cocke, and sister Joie Cocke Mayo. He is survived by his brother William Marvin Cocke, Jr. He is survived by his wife of fiftyone years, Joan McInnis Cocke, M.D. He is also survived by his daughter Ann Ellison and her husband David and their children Katie, Elizabeth, Ian, Calley and Sean; his daughter Susan Kobayashi, M.D. and her husband Mark and their children Brock, Noelle, Zachary, and Sonja; and his son Thomas B. Cocke, Jr. and his wife Leslie and their children Sarah and Rachel. Thomas graduated from Louisiana State University <http://www.legacy.com/memorial-sites/lsu/?personid=158005157&affiliateID=1382> and Louisiana State University Medical School. He did his internship and Internal Medicine residency at Charity Hospital in New Orleans. Following this he entered the United States Navy <http://www.legacy.com/memorial-sites/navy/?personid=158005157&affiliateID=1382> as a physician and served at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard. After his discharge he returned to Charity Hospital in New Orleans where he was involved with the dialysis center for the next four years. He moved to Baton Rouge and practiced at Earl K. Long Medical Center, where he was Medical Resident Director and Clinical Director, and The Greater Baton Rouge Kidney Center. Upon retirement he moved to Washington Parish and raised cattle for ten years. Four years ago he moved to Prosper, Texas to be near his son and daughter.
