Graveside services for Mary Burkham, age 63, of Winnsboro, formerly of Hopkins County are scheduled for 3:00 PM Saturday, December 11, 2010 at Conner Cemetery in Dike, Texas with Bro. B. J. Teer officiating. Pallbearers include Nathan Hooper, Michael Slay, Rogue Villarreal and Rod Hashaway. Visitation will be held at Tapp Funeral Home Saturday December 11, 2010 from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM prior to service.
Mary Elizabeth Slay was born in Danville, Arkansas, on January 19, 1947, the daughter of Norman and Ida Mae Rodgers Slay. She married David W. Burkham in Dallas on February 9, 1992. He survives.
Mrs. Burkham worked as a cashier at Wal-Mart. She was of the Assemblies of God faith. Mrs. Burkham passed away Wednesday, December 8, 2010, in Paris, Texas.
Survivors include son, Michael Slay, and wife, Amy, of The Colony; daughter, Ida Mae Villarreal, and husband, Rogue, of Winnsboro; grandchildren, Arik Wolf, Frankie Villarreal, Kaitlyn Slay, Oliva Villarreal; sister-in-law, Sandy Slay, of Eustace.
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Hunter Wolf; brother, Frank Emmit Slay.
Arrangements are under the direction of Tapp Funeral Home.
