Note: illey Choate. Shirley was born on June 28, 1934 in Bienville Parish, Louisiana. She went to be with the Lord on January 26, 2000, at Lincoln General Hospital in Ruston, Louisiana, having lived 65 years, 6 months, and 28 days. She was buried at Oak Grove Cemetery on Louisiana Highway 147 south of Arcadia. She is survived by her husband, Quinton Choate of Simsboro; two sons, Gary Choate and his wife Peggy of Simsboro, and Bobby Choate and his wife Kim of Waxahachie, Texas; four daughters; Penny Moss of Arcadia, Edna Alonis and her husband Jay of Nashua, New Hampshire; Tammy pepper and her husband Gerald of Simsboro; and Angie Driggers of Simsboro; two brothers; Charlie C. Tilley of Jonesboro, and J. W. Tilley of Quitman; three sisters, Beatrice Kirkham of Shreveport, Edna Mae Ente of Stockton, California, and Mary Rowell of Ringgold; fourteen grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and a host of friends. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents: Richard "Dick" Tilley and his wife Edna, and one sister, Annie Lee Bruner. Psalm 116:15 says, "Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints." Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians 15:55, O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?"
