"George" Williams, Jr., 64, St. Augustine, died peacefully May 2, 2009 at his home. He was born in Miami and had resided in St. Augustine for the past 11 years, moving here from Colorado. He received his Bachelor of Science from Georgia Tech in Industrial Management. He also received his MBA from Georgia College and his MS in Computer Resource Management from Webster University. He was commissioned into the U.S. Air Force and served from 1968-1988, retiring as a Major. Upon his retirement from the military he worked as a Civil Servant with the government until 1996. After his retirement from the Civil Service he and his wife, Summer, enjoyed traveling the country in their R.V. until permanently moving to St. Augustine in 2005. George was an avid long distance runner, accumulating 33,000 miles during his 25 years of running. He ran in numerous marathons and half marathons and he also ran Pikes Peak Ascent 4 times. He was a member of Anastasia Baptist Church. Memorial Services will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday May 5, 2009 at Anastasia Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 38 ½ years, Summer Kate Williams, St. Augustine; his parents, C.G. and Nancy Williams, Clarkesville, GA; his sister, Judy Williams, Middletown, CT; and his cat, Bella.
