Note: Charles A. Hunter Mr. Charles Arnold “Charlie” Hunter, age 81, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas, died Friday, February 10, 2012, in the De Queen Medical Center. He was born to Robert C. and Margie Arlene Gann Hunter at Arkadelphia, Arkansas, on February 18, 1930. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, having served in the U. S. Navy. He worked for Safeway as Manager in Nacogdoches, Texas, as an auto business manager in Oklahoma moving to De Queen in 1978. He was retired from De Queen Ford, where he was auto business manager, as well as a farmer. He and his family were named Farm Family of The Year in 2006. He was a Methodist, and enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, gardening, and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of over 60 years, Alma Christian Hunter, De Queen, a son and Daughter-in-law, Chris and Donna Hunter of De Queen, a daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Jerry Conley of Catoosa, Oklahoma, two brothers, Joe Hunter of Arkadelphia, Ark.; and Dale Hunter of Lufkin, Texas, a sister, Mary Wood of Monticello, Ark.; six grandchildren, and their spouses, Tina and James Martz , Christy and Jared Barbee, and Jeri Weaver, all of Catoosa, Okla., Teri Conley of Bartlesville, Okla., Brandy and Clay Ingram of De Queen, and Carl and Nicole Hunter of Lockesburg, Ark. Funeral Services for Mr. Charlie Hunter will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 14th in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Travis Lane and Bro. Dennis Pruitt officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Lockesburg, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at Chandler Funeral Home on Monday, February 13th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. (from Southwest Arkansas Daily)
