Born Wednesday, October 8, 1924 in Sikes, Louisiana, he was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Henry and Janie Adell Fox Sullivan; wife of 65 years, Gloria Bell Sullivan; son, Joseph Carlton Sullivan; three brothers and one sister.
Mr. Sullivan was a Master Sergeant (retired) in the U.S. Air Force and a Veteran of World War II. He also served his country in Korea. Mr. Sullivan was a member of the Sikes Baptist Church and Eastern Star Lodge #151 F&AM.
Those left to cherish his memory include his daughters, Patricia Nutt (Robert), Quitman, LA and Joan Colvin (Reginald), Dubach, LA; grandchildren, Wayne Boyett (Kayla), Daniel Nutt (Brittany), Jeana Marks, Phillip Colvin (Melinda), and Denise Willis; 17 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; brother, Glendale Sullivan (Pat), Bristol, GA; and numerous nieces nephews and other family members.
The family will receive friends on Friday, September 2, 2016, at Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield, from 9:00 AM until time of services.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, September 2, 2016 at Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield with Chaplain Ron Lowe officiating. Interment will follow in Harmony Grove Cemetery, in Dodson.
Serving the family as pallbearers will be Wayne Boyett, Gabe Boyett, Phillip Colvin, Daniel Nutt, Lane Nutt, Joseph Marks, Levi Sullivan and Danny Sullivan.
