Funeral services for Mr. Billy Gene "Brack" McDonald, age 80, of Hideaway, Texas are scheduled for 10:30 A.M. Thursday, February 1, 2007 in the Caudle-Rutledge Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Shelby Johnson officiating. Interment with Military Honors will be held at 3:00 P.M. in the Oaklawn Cemetery in Cooper, Texas under the direction of Caudle-Rutledge Funeral Directors in Lindale. Mr. McDonald died Monday, January 29, 2007 in a Tyler hospital. He was born in Sulphur Springs, Texas to William Harvey and Clemie Faye Stewart McDonald and was formerly of Garland before moving to Hideaway in 1998. Mr. McDonald served in the United States Navy during World War II and later served in the United States Army Reserves. He worked for Ben E. Keith and Armour & Company having worked in Sales and retired from MBPXL (Missouri Packing). He attended the Hide-a-Way Lake Community Church and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Garland, Texas. He was preceded in death by his Daughter, Pamela Sue McDonald in 1995 and his Son, John William McDonald in 1997. Mr. McDonald is survived by his Wife of 57 years, Johnnie McDonald of Hideaway, Texas; Sister, Treva Nell Maddox of Abilene, Texas; Sister-in-law & Brother-in-law, Donna Ruth & Richard Poe of Ft. Worth, Texas; Daughter-in-law, Monette McDonald Fontenot of Blossom, Texas; 3 Grandchildren, Reagan Denise Jones & Chris "Bubba" Jones, both of Chesapeake, Virginia and Pecos Chea McDonald of Blossom; and by 2 Great Grandchildren. Serving as pallbearers will be Bill Taylor, Harrell Chism, Carless Moore, Jimmy Moore, Ray Moore, and Larry Smith. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Caudle-Rutledge Funeral Home in Lindale.
