Funeral services for Margaret Sue Kennington of Martin, LA will be held at 10 A.M. Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at Bethel Baptist Church with Bro. Wiley Cole officiating and Barney Kennington assisting. Interment will follow in Holley Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 P.M. until 9 P.M. Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at Rockett-Nettles Funeral Home.
Mrs. Kennington was born March 18, 1933 in Coushatta, LA and passed to the next life on December 7, 2015 at the age of 82. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church for the past 18 years. Granny retired from Farmers Co-op in 1995 where she worked for 22 years. She loved her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. If you wanted to visit with Granny you better be standing by the sink. We always joked with her about washing the dishes twice.
She was preceded in death by her twin boys, Kerry Lane and Kim Allen; parents, Edward and Clevie Kennington; siblings, Azel Green, Bobby Lea, Erma Holley, Deward Kennington, and Elmer Kennington.
Mrs. Kennington is survived by her husband of 65 years, Basil Kennington of Martin, LA; two children, Barney Glen Kennington and wife, Barbara and Donna Sue Ortego and husband, Don; five grandchildren: J.D. Kennington, Bobby Girouard, Ashley Kennington, Kerry Girouard, and Erin Basile; seven great-grandchildren: Kloe, Madison, Cayman, Kale, Riley, Leighton, and Oliver; and numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and her church family.
Pallbearers will be Jason Basile, J.D. Kennington, Bobby Girouard, Kerry Girouard, Cayman Girouard, and Don Ortego. Honorary pallbearers will be David Lea and Austin Settles.
