  Floyd was born March 6, 1926 in Wheeler County, Texas. He was the second of five children born to Solley and Elva Norrid. He graduated from Kelton High School and attended Wayland Baptist College as a pre-medical major. Floyd served in the U.S. Army Infantry in World War II. After the war, he returned to Texas, where he lived briefly in Shamrock and in Amarillo, where he worked in the glass business. He married Martha Jo Parnell in Amarillo on April 21, 1950.
  They had two children. Floyd and Martha moved to Lubbock in July 1950. He worked 41 years as a glazier for Lubbock Glass and Mirror and retired in 1991. Floyd was a lifetime member of RSES. He loved learning and was an avid collector of tools and rare books and coins. He was a master wood craftsman, member of Flint Avenue Baptist Church and Arnet Benson Sr. Citizen Center. He was preceded in death by his parents, Solley and Elva; a sister, Mary Belle Bentley of Borger; and a brother, James of Oklahoma City, Okla.
  Floyd is survived by his wife, Martha Norrid; son, David and wife, Delia, of Lubbock; daughter, Brenda Wesley and husband, Kyle, of Frisco; six grandchildren, Ruby, Pamela, Chase, Chance, Adam and Alec; three great-grandchildren, Jason, Lexie and Brooklyn; a sister, Lea Kidd of Lubbock; a brother, Cecil of Crawford, Colo. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 16, 2004, at the funeral home.
  MR. AND MRS. NORRID
  Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Norrid of Lubbock celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary April 21. They are the parents of Brenda Wesley of Frisco and David Norrid of Lubbock. Norrid and the former Martha Jo Parnell were married April 21, 1950, in Clovis, N.M. They have six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
