Note: Albert Loftin Sr. Albert "Shorty" Carlton Loftin, Sr. Funeral services for Albert "Shorty" Carlton Loftin, Sr., 62, of Coushatta, LA will be held at 2 P.M. Friday, August 9, 2013 at Rockett-Nettles Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Billy Orr officiating. Interment will follow in Springhill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 P.M. until 9 P.M. Thursday, August 8, 2013 at the funeral home. Mr. Loftin was born November 2, 1950 in Shreveport, LA and passed away August 6, 2013. "Shorty" served his country in the National Guard. He spent most of his adult life actively involved in his community. He worked with the Red River Parish Sheriff's Department both as a Canine Officer and as a Warden. He later worked with the Webster Parish Sheriff's Department. "Shorty" was currently working as a Security Guard for the Grand Bayou Resort. Through his many years of dedicated service, he had touched the lives of many individuals. He will be missed by all of those who knew him and loved him. He was preceded in death by his father, Ellis Loftin; and his wife, Marsha Loftin. Left to cherish his memory is one son, Albert "Peanut" Loftin and wife, Susie; one daughter, Misty Loftin Gross and husband, Jason; mother, Opal Loftin; one brother, Charles Loftin and wife, Alona; one sister, Jan Bierden and husband, Dale; grandchildren: Jill, Logan, Emily, Lily, Jacob, and Melissa; step-children: Misty Wood and husband, Chris and their children, Sachse and Darren and Brady Alsup and his children, Wesley and Braden; and numerous special nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Shane Hubbard, Jeff Smith, Evan Bowers, Jimmy Young, Mike Young, and Jason Wainright. Honorary pallbearer will be Buddy Fowler.
