Notes
a. Note:   On the 1870 Arkansas census, Scott County, Revilie Township (later to become Sarber Co & after four more years became Logan County) is found the following family listing of which William J. Weehunt is the fourth child: Fredrick Weehunt age 50, a farmer born in North Carolina Mary Ann, his wife, age 29 born in Georgia Lewis W. son age 18 born in Arkansas Mary L. dau age 15 born in Arkansas James M. son age 13 born in Arkansas William J. son age 9 born in Arkansas Sarah L. dau age 7 born in Arkansas Thomas J. son age 2 born in Arkansas One can assume that the son, Lewis W. and the Daughter Mary L. are definately not natural children of the wife. Mary Ann Weehunt, as her age will hardly permit her to be so. No likely is Mary Ann even the natural mother of the third son, James M. In all probability, she will be the natural mother of the last 3 children, and step mother to the three older Weehunt children Birth state of the oldest son, Lewis W. Weehunt, as listed on this census: places Fredrick Weehunt in the state of Arkansas by the year 1852. William Weehunt and Amanda "Lee" Weehunt were married when he was 17 years old. It can be determined from his age, as stated on the 1870 census, that Williams was about 6 years younger than Amanda: She being age 22 at the time of their marriage. Seventeen years after they were married, Amanda died at age 40: William at age 34, was still a relatively young man, and most likely re-married.
