a. Note:   Restaurant Owner and Operator Both restaurants named the "Kitchenette" She received her Social Security Number 7 Sep 1943, 443-24-2944. All the below information was received from Mattie's daughter Violeeta. Mattie owned and operated two restaurants at different times both named the "Kitchenette". While she was married to William Vann, she worked at the Naval Ammunition Depot, now the McAlester Army Ammunition Plant and lived in Haywood, Oklahoma. She lived on a ranch in Arizona when she was with Crowder. When it was almost time for her baby to be born (Elizabeth), Crowder put her on a stagecoach to her mother in Oklahoma to have the baby and he was never heard from again. She also lived in Richville, Pittsburg County, Oklahoma and Scipio, Pittsburg, County, Oklahoma. In 1940 census, Mattie was married to Will Vann (index finds it as Vaw)
