Note: Heinrich Sheets was born December 22, 1813 in Augusta County, Virginia and died April 16, 1889 in Grove Church, Augusta County, Virginia. He was married twice and raised five children in partnership with his first wife. Henry spent his early years working as a farmer and then became a shoemaker. He was listed in the census records as a shoemaker for thirty years. Henry`s first wife was Mariah Lambert. Mariah was born 1804 in Virginia and died prior to 1879 in Augusta County, Virginia. Henry and Mariah were married Augusta 21, 1834 at Grove Chapel, Augusta County, Virginia. Both are listed as illiterate in the 1850 census. Mariah is probably the daughter of Adam Lambert and Elizabeth Waggy. In 1850, Henry and Mariah were living in the 2-½ district of Augusta County, Virginia. They are living next door to his parents, Jacob and Catherine Sheets. Henry and Jacob are both farmers. In 1850, Polly Yates who was born 1804 Virginia and Enoch Yates who was born 1762 Virginia are living with them. In 1860, Henry and his eldest two sons are living next door to his parents. In 1860, 1870 and 1880, Henry was a shoemaker. In 1860, R.L. Sheets, a female who was born 1848 is living with them. In 1870, their son William is living with them. They are living next door to Jacob A. Sheets born 1845. His second wife was Mary Ann Larke Hawkins who was born 1831 Virginia. Henry and Mary Ann were married 10-30-1879 by Samuel Driver in Augusta County, Virginia. Mary Ann was the daughter of William Larke and Nancy Billiams. Henry and Mariah are probably buried at the Mt Pisgah Cemetery in Augusta County, Virginia in one of the many unmarked graves. We have not found a cemetery plot for them. Henry and Mariah`s children were all born and raised in Augusta County, Virginia. All of their children lived in Augusta County, Virginia through out their adult years and are buried at local cemeteries in Augusta County, Virginia.
