Note: Jacob M. Sheets was born 1829 in Virginia. Jacob was living with his parents in the census records of 1850 in Augusta County, Virginia. Jacob lived with his brother William most of his adult life. Jacob inherited 10 ½ acres from his father. The land was located about 2 ½ miles SW of Mt Sidney, Augusta County, Virginia and adjoined the lands of William P. Sheets. He contracted with his nephews Perry, William, and his nieces Naomi and Martha to take care of him in exchange for the land. These were the children of his brother William Sheets. Jacob never married nor had children of his own.
