Pope, deceased.Ludwell Fullilove and Nicholas Shets appointed Administrators.Will of Nicholas Sheats recorded in Will Book "B" page 152-3,Clarke Co., GA Georgia, Clarke County. In the name of GodAmen, I Nicholas Sheats of the County and State aforesaid beingweak in body but of sound mind do make and ordain this my lastwill and testament in the manner and form following, that is tosay - In the first place then it is my will and desire that mywhole estate both real and personal shall vest and continue inthe occupancy of my wife Melinda during her natural life, to bemade changeable however with the several gifts and bequestsherein after specified that is to say: I give and bequeath toeach of my unmarried sons, (viz) Thomas Wooten Sheats, HenryWillis Sheats, and John Lemuel Sheats severally and singly, onenegro boy of the value of Five Hundred Dollars, one horse andsaddle and bridle of the value of One Hundred Dollars, one cowand calf, one sow and pigs, one bed, bedstead and furniture,thereby making their several portion equal to that which my foureldest children have already received, all of which propertythey shall receive as they shall respectively marry or become oflawful age; and I also give and bequeath to my three unmarrieddaughters (viz) Eliza Burt Sheats, Melinda Sheats and MaryElizabeth Sheats, each severally and singly one negro girl ofthe value of Four Hundred Dollars, one horse, saddle and bridleof the value of One Hundred Dollars, one cow and calf, one sowand pigs, one bed, bedstead and furniture, all of which propertythey shall severally receive as they shall respectively marryor become of lawful age, and I further give and bequeath to myunborn infant of which my wife is now pregnant a portionsimilar in kind and of equal value with that of the olderchildren: It is also my will and desire that my estate as abovedirected shall be made further chargeable with the board,schooling and maintenance of my younger Children as above nameduntil such time as they shall respectively marry or become oflawful age, and in the event of the death of either of theabove named children before he or she shall marry or become oflawful age, then his or her portion shall at the death of mywife, be equally divided between all my children remaining; andif at any time after my decease my wife should marry a secondtime, in that event it is my will and desire that at the deathof my wife, there shall be a general and equal division of allthe remaining property among all my children, and in the eventof the death of my wife before my youngest child shall becomeof age or shall marry, then the portion of the unmarried minorsshall be set off to each as above specified and the residue ofmy estate be equally divided among all my children. Sheats,dec'd, one known as the Fullilove tract containg 156 acres, theother known as the B.S. Sheats tract containing 147 acres, moreor less. Both tracts unimproved, entirely woodland and freeand productive. Sold for a division among the legatees. Termscredit until Christmas. B.S. Sheats
