a. Note:   1742 - Benjamin Franklin advertised in the Pennsylvania Gazette for a papermaker who was capable of erecting a paper mill in Williamsburg, .
 1744 - The William Parks mill was completer prior to March.
 1748 - Conrad Scheetz, a Germantown paper maker, purchased a fulling mill on Mill Creek from David Davis along with a house and 100 acres of land. Between Harristown and the Schuykill, a distance of four miles, Mill creek fall 250 feet.
 1750 - Scull and Heap's "Map of Philadelphia and Pars Adjacent" show "Shultz Paper Mill.
 1768 - William Hoffman arrived in Philadelphia form Germany and learned the papermaking craft from Conrad.
 1769 - Conrad taxed for 2 paper mills; the "lower mill" stood, with the house, at the ford by the 10-mile stone. Dove Lake, impounded in 1873, covered the site of the "upper mill."
 1771 - after Conrad's death, the mills were run by his widow and sons.
 1788 - estate settled. The property was awarded after litigation to Henry Kammerer, who deeded the upper mill to George Helmbold and the lower mill to Frederick Scheetz. Each mill had 60 acers.
 1798 - Georger Helmbold sold his portion with the mill to thomas Amies, cordwainer of Philadelpia.
  Conrad Scheetz in the IGI is shown as being born Feb 1725 in Whitemarsh Twp., Montgomery Co., PA. His death date is shown as 1773. Not sure what source the 1771 death date came from.
