From " William's History of Washington County, Ohio--1788-1881"
"...Henry Sheets, who was born in Grand View township in 1807, married Rebecca Parr, who was born in 1811. To them have been born thirteen children, of whom there survive, viz: Minerva, in Iown; Jesse P., in Kansas; Leander and William H., in West Virginia; Rebecca M. and Ruth B., in Kansas; and Hamilton and Malinda. Henry Sheets laid out the first lots in the town of Matamoras, of which he was the originator. During the years 1836-1852 he was engaged in the mercantile business on the site of Matamoras. In 1855 he removed to his present farm in Newport township. During the years 1826-1879, inclusive, he was postmaster at Lower Newport."
Moved from Matamoras, Oh. to Lower Newport, Oh in 1855 after closing their store and mill, and bought a large farm which they named "Sheets Run".
