a. Note:   019 at Marietta Memorial Hospital. He was born in Parkersburg, WV a son of the late Marshall and Lou (Casto) Delaney. His love of baseball began with playing first base and pitching in youth, school, and legion ball leagues. He passed on his passion to many, coaching the American Legion Post 15 team for many years. An avid fan of Marshall University and Nascar’s Dale Earnhardt, he and his family enjoyed attending countless Thundering Herd football games and races in Charlotte and Bristol. Rick retired from Schott Scientific Glass after 30+ years. Not one to sit still for long, he then went to work for Superior Toyota before retiring again in 2018. He is survived by his wife of forty-six years Crystal (Furr) Delaney; son Bradley Richard Delaney (Jessica) of Pataskala, OH; daughter Michelle Renee Vaughan (Joel) of Hurricane, WV; four grandchildren Kayleigh and Jacob Delaney and Emma and Alex Vaughan; a brother Gary Delaney of Parkersburg; his son Craig Delaney; several other nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog Chloe. Services will be Saturday 1:00 PM at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg with Pastor Scott Rice officiating. Burial will be at Parkersburg Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Friday 2-4 and 6-8 PM and Saturday one hour prior to the service.
