a. Note:   t Magnolia Terrace, Galion, after a long illness. Shirley was born in Mansfield, on September 26, 1937 to the late Carl and Sylvia (Furr) Rutan. She married Clarence Slone on November 8, 1955 and he preceded her death on September 20, 2012. Shirley graduated in 1955 from Mansfield Sr. High School. She loved watching NASCAR and cheered for Dale Earnhardt, Sr. and Dale Earnhardt, Jr. Shirley also was a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Shirley is survived by her sons, Clarence Dale (Brenda) Slone, Douglas, GA, Jeff (Carla) Slone, Galion, Perry (Cathy) Slone, Findlay, Carl Slone, Bucyrus, and Wes (Betty) Slone, New London; twelve grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. Shirley was preceded in death by her two brothers; two sisters; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends may call Thursday, December 14, 2017 from 10:00 AM-12:00 PM at the Schneider-Gompf Funeral Home, 303 Portland Way N., Galion. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 PM on Thursday, December 14, 2017 at Schneider-Gompf Funeral Home, Galion, with Rev. Joe Stafford officiating. A private burial will be held at a later date in North Fork Cemetery, Fredericktown. Memorial contributions may be made to Magnolia Terrace Activity Fund in care of the funeral home. The Schneider-Gompf Funeral Home, Galion is honored to serve the family of Shirley E. Slone.
