Smith: Herbert W. Smith, 72 a street car operator on the Country Club line, died yesterday at the Trinity Lutheran hospital after three weeks illness. He had more than thirty years service, having started as a cable car gripman. Surviving are a stepdaughter, Mrs. Charles C. Ethridge of the home, 3741 Broadway; a stepson, D. H. McCooe, New Orleans; three brothers, Harry J. Smith, 2601 Wabash Avenue; Ernest P. Smith, 2434 Denver Avenue, and Clifford A. Smith, 937 West forty-second street, and two sisters, Mrs. Ellis Lynn, 4804 East Twenty-third street, and Mrs. Charles A. Belt, 3039 Flora Avenue.
Mrs. Charles Scott was his half sister, Bertha Martin
Mrs. Ellis Lynn was his half sister, Elaine Smith
Clifford A. Smith was his half brother
