Note: Barbara Duer, 88, Kansas City, MO, passed away January 4, 2007. Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. followed by Funeral service at 11 a.m. Monday, January 8, at Mt. Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Rd. Burial in Mt. Moriah Cemetery. Born in Phoenix, AZ on September 24, 1918 Barbara was the daughter of Charles and Velma Irene (Smith) Belt. She moved to Kansas City when very young. Mother of five, two daughters Judy Taylor and Vicki Sue Miano, three sons Charles, Robert and Kevin Duer; sister Irene Cornelius; Grandmother of ten; Great-Grandmother of 16; and GreatGreat-Grandmother of one. She was preceded in death by her husband Ira E. Duer of 46 years; brother Victor Belt; sister Leona Vaughn; and very dear friend Hubert Weber. Barbara worked at Columbia Electric and then worked at the Bannister Bank as the safe deposit clerk. Barbara loved working in her yard until recent years when her health prohibited that. She enjoyed her grandchildren. She was a quiet, loving and caring little lady. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shriner's Childrens Burn Unit or Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
