  Isaac Brumfield was born in Lawrence Co., Ohio, August 5, 1841. He is a son of Squire and Polly (Sheets) Brumfield. They were among the earliest settlers of this Twp., grinding their corn by hand and killing wild game for food. Mr. Brumfield was married in this county in June, 1863, to Emily Sheets, who is a native of Gallia Co., born in September, 1841. She is a daughter of John and Susan (Henery) Sheets, settlers of this county in 1806. Her father died in 1862, and her mother July 21, 1876. The children of Mr. Brumfield are: Henry L., born May 18, 1864; James M., March 19, 1866; John P., March 10, 1868; Susan F., December 12, 1870; Mary E., March 12, 1872; Annie E., March 8, 1875; Samuel F., April 4, 1877; Celestia, August 18, 1879; Vesta December 24, 1881; they all live at home. Mr. Brumfield was a soldier in the war of the rebelion. He served one year in the 60th Ohio Volunteer Infantry, and was taken prisoner at Harper's Ferry. Mr. Brumfield is a resident of Guyan Twp., where he is engaged as a farmer. His postoffice address is Saundersville, Gallia Co., Ohio.
