Note: Marla began her acting career as a young child, and had become very famous, as were her younger sisters, Tess and Karen, and their brother, Oliver. However, Marla was known for her tantrums, and once she reached 17, her Wild Child lifestyle had become an embarrassment to the family. In August, 1971, at the age of 20, while the family was in Helsdon to escape the Awakening of Frank, Billy, and Hazel, Marla attended the rock concert of her 2nd cousin, Johnny Winslow. (Their grandmothers were sisters.) His bold, brash style of singing, with his obscene gestures and playboy image, sent women into a frenzy. He became known as a legend in the music industry, raising the hairs on the backs of his family’s necks. It was this insolence that brought the cousins together frequently to party. After the concert, Marla invited Johnny and his friends to Avenwell House to party. Not believing the rumors that the house was haunted, Johnny and his band-mates and several unknown women joined Marla in her home and began to mock the spirits they did not believe in. While high on drugs, Philip was able to be seen, and everyone abandoned Marla and Johnny, who didn’t fear him.
