Verna and Charles, listed as Charles Bauchspies and Verna Bauchspies, with nineteen year old son Robert Charles, are found on the 1940 Carbon County census which is the source for the birth year and state of nativity for Charles. The 'bef. 1921' date for their marriage is based on the age of Robert on this census.   Without going into a deep investigation I would suggest that Charles may have married late in life after Verna 's death. There is a 10 Jun 1972 marriage of a Charles B Bauchspiess to a Stella F Stephens in Mahoning County, Ohio on the Ohio Marriage Index, 1970 and 1972-2007.
Curiously, there is also a divorce for a Stella F Stephens and Charles B Bauchspiess the next year on 28 Jun 1973 in Mahoning County. The grounds are extreme cruelty and neglect. Without research it is hard to say if this is the elder Charles, husband of Verna, or perhaps a transmutation of the name of their son, Robert Charles (Charles 'B'). Ohio Divorce Index, 1962-1963, 1967-1971 and 1973-2007. It is most likely the elder.
