Another source for the marriage of Ruth and William is their wedding certificate from Lehigh County, no. 27026. This lists the information on the parents of William Finley. William's mother's name is listed as Ellen Mc O'Neill. Since this is a very odd surname and Mc is used in another place on the same certificate incorrectly, it is assumed that Ellen's surname was O'Neill.
Subsequent research in 2018 has proved this 'assumption' wrong and Ellen's maiden name was McNeill. The source for the this is William's WWI Draft registration card on which his name is Willam McNeill Finley, and his Pennsylvania State Death Certificate no. 14236 (which is also the source for his birth and death dates and locations) in which his mother is listed as Ellen McNeil.
