The source for the death of Ethel as 'bef 1956' is based Alan's second marriage in 1956 and her being mentioned in the obituary of Alan Glose as a former wife, an unlikely mention if they had been divorced. From the Allentown Pennsylvania Morning Call, 15 April, 1998:
"Allen M. Glose, 89, of 4639 Lehigh Drive, Berlinsville, formerly of 50 Fourth St., Slatington, died Monday, April 13, in Palmerton Hospital. He was the husband of the late Ruth A. (Rutman) Glose and the late Ethel (Sourwine) Glose.
He was a loading dock supervisor for the ammonia plant of the former Gulf & Western, Palmerton, for 37 years until retiring in 1973.
Born in Cherryville, he was a son of the late Edward and Jennie (Redline) Glose.
He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Slatington.
Survivors: Daughter, Mava Jones, with whom he resided; sisters, Mrs. Mae Laun and Virginia, wife of Leon Dauson, and brother, Paul, all of Sayre, Bradford County, and two grandsons."
