Notes
a. Note: 860, 1870 and 1880 Lawrence County census records.
The source for the death and burial dates and locations of Isaac Moore are from his Ohio State death certificate. This certificate states his birthdate was May 18, 1829. This is in conflict with the 1900 Lawrence County census which records that he was born in June.
The source for the birth and death dates and locations are from the obituary of Josephine Moore. The children it enumerates as surviving her are Edward E, Elbert, Orville, Henry Clay, Emma Moore Alford, Frank, Lettie, Kate, and Nellie Moore.
The obituary of Isaac Moore from the Semi-Weekly Irontonian, 15 January, 1909 states that three children preceded Isaac in death and that nine survive. This means that another twelfth child belongs in this family who must have been born and died between census records, and for whom no birth record was kept in Lawrence County. In this 1909 obituary Henry Clay is residing in the county, Orville is in Washington state, Emma Alford is in Chicago, Edward in Cottage Corner, Indiana, Elbert, Frank, Letitia, and unmarried Kate and Nellie are in Indianapolis. Alice, presumably unmarried as she is listed without married name, was a school teacher who died in Puerto Rico. The obituary states that son Edward from Indiana was a senator from his district.
  CHILDREN:
The source for the birth of Nelly Moore is "Ohio Births and Christenings, 1821-1962." Index. FamilySearch, Salt Lake City, Utah, 2009, 2011. Index entries derived from digital copies of original and compiled records. Nellie G Moore, age 41 and single, is living with brother Edward E Moore in Los Angeles on the 1920 census. Source Citation: Year: 1920; Census Place: Los Angeles Assembly District 72, Los Angeles, California; Roll: T625_113; Page: 9A; Enumeration District: 373; Image: 536.
The source for the marriage of Edward Moore and Retta Harold is Source Citation: Union County, Indiana; Marriages 1860-1918, Part I Grooms Part II Brides Compiled by Ruth M Sl; Book: F; Page: 502.
Edward (listed as Edward E Moore) and Retta are found on the 1910 Indiana census with son Harold, born in 1902 in Washington D.C. Source Citation: Year: 1910; Census Place: Connersville Ward 2, Fayette, Indiana; Roll: T624_348; Page: 10B; Enumeration District: 0023; FHL microfilm: 1374361. This is the source for the birth year and location of Retta.
Edward is listed on the 1920, 30, and 40 California census with a new wife, Rosalind, born in Wisconsin in 1886. This census states that her parents were born in Vienna. This Edward E. Moore is the same as the Edward E. Moore as his sister, Nellie G Moore, age 41 and single is living with him in Los Angeles on the 1920 census. On this same 1920 census is a two year old child, Genevive. Source Citation: Year: 1920; Census Place: Los Angeles Assembly District 72, Los Angeles, California; Roll: T625_113; Page: 9A; Enumeration District: 373; Image: 536.
The source for the marriage of Edward and Rosalind in Chicago is “Illinois, Cook County Marriages, 1871-1920.” Index. FamilySearch, Salt Lake City, Utah, 2010. Illinois Department of Public Health records. "Marriage Records, 1871-present." Division of Vital Records, Springfield, Illinois. This is another source for the birth year and location of Rosalind.
As of 2014 it is not known what happened to Retta Harold Moore.

The source for the birthdate of Elbert Moore is "Ohio Births and Christenings, 1821-1962." Index. FamilySearch, Salt Lake City, Utah, 2009, 2011.   There is a record of the burial of an Alice M Moore, listed without age or parents, in Lawrence County in 1898. As there are no other Alice Moore's listed in Lawrence County between 1870 and 1900, this is probably the daughter of Isaac and Josephine, but more evidence is needed to confirm it. "Ohio, Deaths and Burials, 1854-1997," index, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/F6DS-72Z : accessed 26 Nov 2014), Alice M. Moore, ; citing , reference ; FHL microfilm 182758.
Subsequent to entering the above paragraph, the 1909 obituary of Isaac Moore was found (see under Isaac Moore) which states that Alice, a school teacher, and listed without married name, had preceded him in death in Puerto Rico. Whether or not the above burial is for this Alice, the fact remains that she died prior to 1909 in Puerto Rico. The fact that the item above is a burial and not a death gives credence to the idea that it COULD be this Alice.
For the marriage information for Franklin see under his notes.
The source for the birth month of Kate and Alice is the 1900 census, Source Citation: Year: 1900; Census Place: Fayette, Lawrence, Ohio; Roll: 1292; Page: 6A; Enumeration District: 0068; FHL microfilm: 1241292.
The source for the death of Armelda Moore at age 14 is the cemetery listing in the Moore cemetery in Fayette, Lawrence, Ohio. An additional source is Lawrence Co. Ohio Deaths 1868-1938.
