Note: here is a Lawrence County marriage for a George Freeman in 1866 to Harriet Ballard. This would be a logical choice for a marriage for George, as he would have been about thirty. However, upon checking the 1870 Lawrence County census we find that this George Freeman and wife Harriet were born in 1811 and 1814 respectively. This may have been a second marriage for this couple, but it is certainly not George Freeman son of David P and Nancy Freeman.
